roadtrip of Þjóðvegur 1
The Ring Road is one of the most important transport infrastructures in Iceland as it goes around the whole country. In July of 2023, I, along with one of my best friends, Max, rented a car and traveled the whole distance, experiencing Iceland from its largest cities to breathtaking, untouched nature. Glaciers, lava fields, waterfalls, hot springs, fjords, the wild sheep - the whole 1,457,280 yards!
living on the Appalachian trail
In the summer of 2021, I researched, organized, and undertook a three-month solo hike of the Appalachian Trail to fulfill a lifelong dream of mine. I hiked a little over 1,100 miles from Georgia to Pennsylvania and about 115 miles in Maine, beginning at the Northern terminus and hiking south through the "One Hundred Mile Wilderness". I met wonderful views and people at every turn and sent myself disposable cameras in my resupply boxes to help capture the journey.
Scotland Mission Trip
My family joined a mission trip to help renovate a school in a castle in West Kilbride, Scotland. We stayed in the castle and worked during the days, and at night my siblings and I went and explored the town. When we got the whole day, we traveled further into Scotland and saw historic towns, castles, and flowers we had never seen before.
Backpacking tour of Europe
When my brother and I graduated high school in 2018, we wanted to know what it was to fall asleep on a train and wake up somewhere new. We planned a 2-week tour of Europe and went on to take trains between France, Italy, and Austria, walk through bustling cities, live out of our backpacks, and stay in cheap hostels that led us to meet fabulously interesting people. These photos were all taken with my iPhone 4.
